If you're a foodie and prefer to date other foodies, then this article is for you. From restaurant recommendations to sharing your recipes and cooking tips, these apps can get you closer to your foodie love.
I love my food and when it comes to my love life, I want to meet a foodie. So after a while, I decided to do a little research and asked the people who have found love on food apps what they thought.
According to the stats, I'm not alone in my search. The Foodie Dating App Survey, an online dating survey conducted by AdultDating VIP on behalf of Foursquare Labs, found that the average user had been online dating for three years and had tried eight dating apps, and that the average foodie was looking for someone who "loves food as much as they do."
According to the survey, 30% of people who use dating apps claim to be foodies. This number is increasing, as the number of foodies on the dating apps has been growing rapidly. There are now apps for everything from foodies and beer lovers to dating couples.
So if you're looking for a foodie partner, take a look at the apps available.
The apps I've listed below have been reviewed and chosen based on the following criteria:
- Users of these apps have given a review. This is very important, as you want to know that your fellow foodies are satisfied and want to use the app again.
- Apps with the best user reviews and that are most popular.
I'm also going to include the reviews from people I interviewed for the "The Love and Foodie Dating App Survey". I asked them to provide reviews for the best apps to use, so you can see why they love these apps.
I've added two apps that are on the market, but don't yet have reviews.
So without further ado, here are the best dating apps for foodies:
Meetup (iOS, Android)
Meetup is an app that allows you to connect with people to do stuff together. But it's a little more than just that. In addition to connecting you with people who share your interests, it gives you the opportunity to join groups and events. In other words, it's a dating app that's also a group organizer.
You can start a group by entering information such as your interests and your location. You can then enter details about your interest, such as cooking, cooking classes, food festivals, farmers markets, wine tasting and many more. You can also search for specific places or events in your area and add them to your interest list.
So if you're looking for something a little more casual, this app might be for you.
Reviews are positive.
Foodies (iOS, Android)
Foodies is dating app is similar to Meetup in that it is a group organizer that also provides you with the opportunity to meet other foodies.
The key difference is that instead of connecting with people who share your interests, you can connect with people who share your love of food. As a member of this app, you can add interests such as food and cooking classes to your profile. You can also invite people to join your group and share your interest in food.
A foodie dating app that doesn't only want to find you a partner. This is a group organizer that wants to connect you with other foodies and share your love of food with others.
Dappr (iOS, Android)
Dappr is an app that claims to be the most innovative dating app in the world. It works by matching members of the app with people who have similar interests.
However, in addition to that, it allows you to connect with people with similar interests. You can search for other people with similar interests in your area and the people who are listed will match. The only problem is that I'm not convinced this is truly a dating app.
So instead of using it as a dating app, use it to meet people who share your interests.
Reviews are positive.
Taste (iOS, Android)
Taste is an app that connects foodies by allowing you to meet people who are looking for a partner that also loves food. It is similar to Dappr in that it matches members of the app who have similar interests. It is, however, a lot more popular.
You can search for others using filters, such as food festivals, cooking classes, restaurants, wine tasting and beer events. If you're a beer geek, you can add beer events.
The best thing about this app is that it allows you to filter out the members you want to meet based on gender, location and age. If you're looking for a guy that likes beer and eats meat, this is the app for you.
Reviews are positive.
Should you use a foodie-specific dating app?
Now that we know what to look for in a dating app, let's talk about if you should use a foodie-specific dating app.
According to the survey, most people are looking for a foodie partner, which means that they want to find someone who shares their love of food.
So you've decided that you're looking for someone with similar interests to your own. The problem is that foodies aren't always the easiest to spot in a crowd. So you might want to use a dating app that has already identified people who are interested in your interests, rather than use a dating app that just allows you to find people who share your interests.
That's why I recommend using a foodie-specific dating app. This way you'll get to meet people who share your interests first. But that doesn't mean you can't also use it as a dating app, because it works for everyone, not just foodies.
